1. Tear the white bread into small pieces
and place them in a bowl. Add the
milk,stir and let stand for a few minutes. Add the ground beef, onion,
garlic,
Romano cheese, parsley, egg and black pepper. Mix with your hand
until
blended well.
2. Roll
the meat into 2 inch balls. You should get about 16. Heat a thin layer
of
olive oil in a sauté pan. Make sure the oil is hot. Add the meatballs
and
brown on all sides. Remove to a platter lined with paper towels.
3. Add
the meatballs to a saucepan and pour enough tomato sauce to cover
the meatballs. Simmer covered for 20 minutes.
